Scream VI
After surviving the latest Ghostface killings, four survivors move to New York City to start their lives over. But the happy days don’t last long as suspicious murders begin to happen around them.
Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, Scream VI is written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick and will feature returning stars Melissa Barrera (Sam Carpenter), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy Meeks-Martin), Mason Gooding (Chad Meeks-Martin), Jenna Ortega (Tara Carpenter), Hayden Panettiere (Kirby Reed) and Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers. Additional cast members include Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra and Samara Weaving.
In an interesting twist, Jenna Ortega’s character Tara plans to kill her nemesis Ghostface in Scream VI. This plot line seems to be an interesting way to comment on the slasher movie genre and the discourse surrounding it. While this isn’t the first time a character has killed the killer in a Scream film, it could be the first time that it happens in NYC.
